85 - Lots of good pics...

Yesterday was our second ultrasound - first ultrasound measured 5w6d; this one measured 7w3d (+-5d), so we are on track for growth and the heartbeat was "normal"...although I couldn't pin her down to a number. Still shocked. Still can't wrap my head around how my crazy numbers turned into this beating heart. Just so you all don't think I'm an eternal pessimist, our CC.RM nurse said that she hadn't seen numbers like ours turn into a heartbeat in the 20+ years she has worked in the field. We're thrilled, and after yesterday, my guard has come down more. Really, at this point, is there any other option?

Alex and I are going on vacation next week. Our friends that we stayed with in Colorado have rented a beautiful house in St. Thomas and have invited us to join them. Although I won't be enjoying foo-foo drinks on the beach, I am looking forward to a week of staring at the ocean and day-dreaming about the future. This is the pool at the house they've rented. We can't wait!

What a beautiful pic!!! I am so happy for you...and I'd be letting my guard down now too:-)

You are going to have a great vaca!!! (are you at all freaking out about the CCRM recomendations not to fly? I've been considering, if I get my BFP, just by-passing their concerns too since I've recently learned that no matter how hard you want to keep a baby in, if it wants to leave, it leaves...and the opposite is true (or so I've heard)). Oh, I don't know -I'm just curious. I tend to follow the rules too much and it bites me in the butt, so I'm just curious about your thoughts!

Hey Sue -

Nope, I'm not freaking out about the CCRM recommendation at all. After talking to a couple of ob/gyns who readily gave me their "ok", I realize that their (CCRM's) recommendation is just for care concerns if something does happen. From everything I've read and researched, there is no increase risk factor in flying.

And I also firmly believe the "if it wants to leave it will leave; if it wants to stay it will stay". I know that if something were to happen at this point, there is a 85% chance it is genetic. Although, I don't think I would take a high-stressed trip right now - where I would be tromping all over the place, but, clearly, this is not that type of trip :-).

What a cute embryo!!!!! Seriously, best picture I have seen in months! I am smitten with this kid already.
BTW, call me again today, I have some IRL stuff to tell you!
Big hugs and congrats to you and the hubby.
Also, I totally agree with the if it wants to leave, it will theory. Live it up! After months of worry, pokes, prods, hormones, you deserve it.
As an aside, my sincere hope to your fellow friends in the infertility world, that all of you have your mommy dreams come true and soon. The world would be a better place if people who so desperately want children were parents. I wish you all the best this May.

I am one happy auntie!! You and Alex look so happy (long over- due). Cousins, Drew and Gracie are going to be teaching him/her all the tricks of toddlerhood and pre-school(look out!). Just think, when you come over, I have everything that you could possibly need(even left over newborn diapers to size 6). Watching you and Alex with my grankids, you are both going to be the best parents ever. I love the three of you so much!
